OUR WORDSMITH AWARDS

Young Identity has established relationships with Manchester schools, colleges and academies inspiring over 10,000 students from year 4 to 11, under our project Wordsmith Awards.

Our outstanding facilitators deliver poetry and performance projects, assemblies, creative writing workshops, one-off or as part of a weekly term programme.

We inspire young people to develop their passion for writing and performance and explore the possibility of the arts as a career.

Our Wordsmith Award Programs are great enrichment opportunities for the students who want to become familiar with spoken word poetry, literature, page poetry, performance and creative expression.

We believe that the arts can be creatively transformative, as well as educational and entertaining. We embed self-confidence and encouraging self-expression through artistic endeavour and discipline are at the heart of a YI project.
