Our Creating Pathways program expands learning for Young Identity members, offering opportunities in youth governance, event production, publishing and workshop facilitation. Through our Steering Group, Young Producers, Young Publishers and Facilitator Training, members gain valuable experience in the creative industries. Explore below to apply for these roles!

Trustee role

Young Identity is always seeking new trustees to join our diverse board, which includes professionals from fields like economics, law, psychology, education, counselling, arts production, community engagement and creative business development. Our board brings a wealth of expertise, perspectives and lived experiences across local, national and international contexts.

Download our trustee pack, and submit your CV along with a cover letter (max 500 words) explaining your interest in becoming a Trustee at Young Identity to enquiries@youngidentity.org.

Alternatively, you can send a video (up to 2 minutes) in place of the letter. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview.

Steering Group

Volunteer Role

Our Steering Group consists of active participants who advise and support our youth-led organization, ensuring projects meet the community’s needs and reflect their views.

To join our Steering Group, you must be a Young Identity member (aged 13-25).

Young Producers

Volunteer Role

Through workshops led by our producing team, alumni and industry professionals they gain training and insights into event programming. They play a vital role in producing our flagship event, One Mic Stand and volunteer in roles like staff liaisons, runners, and programmers.

To join our Young Producers, you must be a Young Identity member (aged 13-25).

Facilitators

Training Opportunity

Experienced, empathetic and confident, participants can acess facilitator training, enabling them to connect and engage with fellow young writers in the community. Through our weekly workshop delivery Creating Connections, members receive training by shadowing our lead facilitators, supporting lessons and receiving mentorship and evaluations alongside personalised support from our Artistic Director, Shirley May.

Please Note: This training will not guarantee a permanent facilitation role with Young Identity, however, you will be eligible to be considered for facilitation roles if this training is completed.
