Our short film projects showcase poetry in a new light, combining captivating performances with stunning cinematography to create a powerful artistic expression. We have collaborated with some incredibly talented partners including renowned poets, filmmakers and production studios, to bring these projects to fruition.

Future Voice - North
To mark Apples and Snakes’ 40th anniversary, they launched Future Voices, a project to nurture emerging talent across England, bringing in top spoken word artists and filmmakers to lead an online masterclass for 40 new poets, for each poet to create a one-minute poetic film based on their world—their life, community, or city with Young Identity leading the northern cohort.
These video were commissioned by Apples and Snakes as part of Future Voices - A snapshot of our world as told by today's freshest talent. With special thanks to funders: Arts Council England, Idlewild and Fenton Arts.
Poetic justice values
Poetic Justice Values is a research project centring young people’s experiences, values and views within contemporary debates of spoken word poetry - an art form performed live to an audience and circulated online - and the future of just education in the UK.

Genesis Project
This collection of work is funded by Genesis Kickstart and all explore different aspects of the zeitgeist. The three films introspectively explore the artist's individual journeys and perspectives. As the viewer, we are charmed into entering their imaginations and becoming confidants to their reflections and subjective worlds.

Push Festival
The Push Festival Series are three commissioned films by Young Identity artists Jardel Rodrigues, Nasima Begum and Frankie Blaus. HOME’s Push Festival is an annual celebration of North West creative talent. Over four weeks, our stages, screens and spaces are dedicated to showcasing fantastic works from around the region and newly commissioned works across a range of art forms.
